Experience

My career doesn't fit a single job title — and that's the point. Over 12.5 years at ITK Engineering GmbH (Bosch Group), I rotated through nearly every role in the software development lifecycle, across six major industrial clients. What follows is organized by what I do, not just where I did it.

What I do

Embedded Software Development

Production C/C++ for resource-constrained, safety-relevant systems.

  • Bare-metal and RTOS development on Infineon microcontrollers (high-voltage heater for a leading German automotive OEM: requirements, architecture, implementation, and testing under A-SPICE / V-Model)
  • Application and middleware development under Embedded Linux and QNX for an autonomous driving platform, including QNX evaluation for ADAS on Renesas hardware
  • UI-near embedded development with Qt/QML (agricultural-machinery touchscreens, premium home appliances)
  • Cross-compilation for x86/ARM targets, performance profiling, working within tight memory and timing budgets
  • Model-based software development & testing (Matlab/Simulink + TPT)
  • C
  • C++
  • Embedded Linux
  • QNX
  • Qt/QML
  • Infineon
  • Matlab/Simulink

Software & System Architecture

The role I gravitate toward most — modular, maintainable designs, communicated so teams follow them.

  • Software architecture for the base system of an autonomous driving platform (Tier-1 / premium-OEM project, 2018–2022): modular design under Embedded Linux and QNX that measurably improved reliability and maintainability
  • Architecture modeling with UML (Enterprise Architect, PlantUML, Polarion) and the arc42 approach
  • Introduced and improved software development processes within project teams (A-SPICE, V-Model compliance)
  • Standardized build and verification infrastructure across distributed development teams (major agricultural-machinery manufacturer, 2014–2018)
  • UML
  • arc42
  • Enterprise Architect
  • PlantUML
  • Polarion
  • A-SPICE
  • V-Model

Technical Leadership & Agile Roles

Engineering leadership across the people dimension — product, process, and team.

  • Product Owner & UI/UX Lead for a premium oven product line of a global home-appliance manufacturer (2022–2025): drove the project to Start of Production, coordinating a 12-member cross-functional team spanning development, testing, and CI/CD
  • Project lead of a four-person embedded team on an autonomous-driving platform; supervised a Master’s thesis on GPU code offloading in adaptive AUTOSAR
  • Scrum Master and agile facilitation: sprint ceremonies, backlog management, stakeholder communication
  • A decade of mentoring: from doctoral candidates at KIT to junior engineers in industry
  • Product Owner
  • Scrum Master
  • Project Lead
  • UI/UX

Process & Quality

Automotive software taught me discipline that transfers everywhere.

  • A-SPICE and V-Model processes from requirements to verification
  • Requirements engineering and traceability (Polarion, Jira, Confluence)
  • Software & system architecture using the arc42 approach
  • Test-driven workflows: Google Test, Unity; CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins, Docker)
  • Version control across ecosystems: Git, SVN, Mercurial
  • A-SPICE
  • V-Model
  • arc42
  • Polarion
  • Jira
  • Google Test
  • Jenkins
  • Docker
  • Git
  • CI/CD
